Welcome to the Samarivans!

I’d like to introduce you to the LOVE BUG, because, EVERYONE NEEDS SOME LOVE. She is looking mighty fine, ready to grace the walls of your home, in support of the Samaritans.

The Samarivan collaboration was the idea of photo-realist oil painter Sarah Graham who paints all things joyful and colourful like toys and sweets. She is also a mental health advocate and at present is a judge for The British Art Prize and Britain’s Best Young Artist.  She invited 180 artists to collaborate and create their own camper-van, while she provided the stencil.

In the mix, there are 12 celebrity Samarivans, so take a closer look.

Joe Lycett who has swapped his van for a samari-bike. Leigh Frances, aka Keith Lemon whose van is one of my favourites, is infested with gremlins. Ricky Wilson’s van has become a cool cartoon kid. James Bay’s van is psychedelic while Jodie Whittaker has left her Tardis and has her own ‘Time Van’ instead. Timmy Mallett’s van is a riot of colour. Sue Pollard has made a ‘Hindu bride and her glampervan wedding dream’. Phill Jupitus has a ‘Haunted Van’,  Valery Singleton’s ‘Heaven Sent Starry Night’ and Kim Wild’s shadows and light in the woods and finally, Kelly Ellis’ ‘Wicked1’ and Bec Hill’s ‘Be Chill’.

Take a look at all 180 Samaritans

If you would like to support this great cause do make a bid over on Ebay, here’s the link to the LOVE BUG VAN & all 179 other vans here.

The auction ends on Sunday, so be quick!

@samaritanscharity works hard to ‘raise awareness of how we can create a world where fewer people die by suicide.

The latest suicides statistics showed that in 2018, in the UK and Republic of Ireland, more than 6,800 people died by suicide. Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy.

And we know that suicide is preventable, it’s not inevitable.

But not being OK is still widely stigmatised. And governments can still make better, more ambitious plans to prevent suicide.’

If you are struggling, you can reach out to Samaritans 24/7
on 116 123, it’s free & talking things through to someone without judgement in a safe space can be a lifeline.

Best Wishes
